Indianapolis Motor Speedway
One of the most well-known of the attractions in Indianapolis is the Speedway. A photo of the visitor center / museum is below.

The "Pagoda" (in the background) is a design that has been around for most of the history of the track.
The Pagoda
The track is called "The Brickyard" because at one time it was paved with bricks. The track was eventually resurfaced. Now only a three-foot wide section of bricks remain -- at the start/finish line. The bricks to the right were taken from the track when it was being resurfaced.

Speaking of resurfacing, they were doing that while I was there (see below) so we did not get to go out on the track. Below is a view from one of the infield stands -- coming out of turn 1.

In the museum, they have many cars which have run at Indy, like these -- some of A.J. Foyt's cars.

They also have some old cars like those below. I especially like the Cadillac to the right.
